Interzum (9-12 May): Shaping the Change

Following the digital Interzum @home 2021, the world‘s leading, international industry event will once again take place as a live experience in the Cologne exhibition halls of Koelnmesse GmbH.

From May 9 to 12, 2023, Interzum will once again present itself to the international trade audience as an active shaper of change with fresh momentum and its claim “Shaping the Change”.

Decision-makers, opinion leaders, specifiers and trendsetters from all over the world will find out about innovations and new products on-site, gather inspiration, strengthen existing business relationships and make new customer contacts.

More than 1,500 exhibitors from around 60 countries are expected. This means that Interzum will once again be at the high level that distinguished the trade fair even before the pandemic.

In addition to the market-leading companies, many small think tanks will again be represented. The international exhibitors will present an exciting mix of new technologies, materials and surfaces in an extraordinary range at the fair.

As innovation drivers and suppliers to the entire furnishing industry, they thus underscore their importance as key partners in the development of new products and design trends.

It is precisely this diversity that makes not only the latest materials and manufacturing processes visible at the fair but also trends and visions for the design of future living spaces. Thus, resource conservation, sustainability, upcycling as well as the growing area of living will be topics that will play a role.

Sustainable production

With the global keynote theme “Neo-ecology”, the trade show will focus in particular on the issues surrounding climate protection and future-oriented planning, because they are crucial for successful innovations in the long term.

With sustainable products and production processes, many companies in the supplier industry are already assuming social responsibility today. That is why Interzum is putting an even stronger focus on these topics, in order to drive forward the joint dialogue that produces new solutions.

Thematically, Interzum is once again divided into the three established product areas: Function and Components, Materials and Nature, and Textile and Machinery.

This structure brings the players in the value-added chains closely together and creates a good overview for exhibitors and visitors. At the same time, a new hall layout will ensure greater efficiency. The goal is an even better visitor experience.

“We are using the newly built Hall 1 for the first time for the Materials and Nature area. Many great companies will be presenting themselves here, including some that were previously represented in Hall 6,” says Maik Fischer, Interzum Director.

The digital pre-show phase will kick off Interzum 2023 from 2-8 May 2023. It is intended to generate interest, visibility and orientation for the physical trade fair by bringing products, innovations and services into the focus of participants even before the start of interzum

Interzum’s claim “Shaping the Change” and the global guiding theme “Neo-ecology” will also be taken up in the diverse event programmes at Interzum 2023. Themed special shows – the Interzum Trend Forums – will show how creatively and flexibly the supplier industry is responding to the challenges of our time.

In the context of central trends, current topics in the furniture and interior design industry will be presented to an international trade audience.
