Canadian Wood organises educational seminar in Bengaluru

Forestry Innovation Consulting India (FII India), popularly known as Canadian Wood, recently hosted a seminar in Bengaluru titled ‘Wood, Design and Architecture’ for faculty members from architectural colleges in the city.

The event brought together renowned industry experts who participated and shared their thoughts on the promising future of sustainable wood in construction and its potential to redefine the architectural landscape.

The seminar served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and delved into the intricate relationship between wood, design and architecture. Attendees also gained valuable insights into the innovative use of wood in contemporary design and the transformative impact it can have on architectural aesthetics.

Distinguished speakers and domain experts included Gurpreet Singh, Principal Architect from Aakar Design Consultants, who shared his perspective on wood in architecture.

Dr. Jimmy Thomas, Assistant Director (Technical Services) from Canadian Wood, spoke on wood as a sustainable material. Ritesh Kumar, Assistant Director (Business Development) from Canadian Wood, offered insights on Canadian wood as a sustainable solution.

The event evolved into a thought-provoking exploration of the pivotal role wood can play in fostering sustainability within the architecture and construction sectors.

FII largely promotes five wood species in India that are sourced from the sustainably managed forests of British Columbia, Canada: Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar and Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF).
