Mechanical innovations on the Morbidelli-x50 include the high-grip vacuum technology worktable.

Italian technology supplier, SCM Group, has introduced two new CNC machining centres, the Morbidelli-x50 and Morbidelli-x100, enhancing its nesting processing range. These models showcase their ability to apply high speed and maximum flexibility to meet growing market demands for “batch one” production.

These new centres guarantee high performance, even at the entry level, with a focus on efficiency, machining quality, and predictive maintenance.

Equipped with the new Maestro Lab CAD/CAM design system, these models facilitate programming from both the office and the machine. The state-of-the-art SCM SmartCut algorithm optimises cutting sequences, reducing waste and energy consumption while enhancing finishing quality and cycle times.

Both models also feature the SMS (Spoilboard Management System), which proactively signals when the spoil panel needs attention.

Mechanical innovations include the high-grip vacuum technology worktable on the Morbidelli-x50, which maximises grip for smaller panels. The XS device allows operators to easily machine all pieces directly on the spoil panel. The safe advanced fixed equipment system ensures maximum operator safety.

The Morbidelli-x100 further amplifies these innovations with excellent configuration versatility, available in various versions from stand-alone machines to integrated cells with automatic ‘Flexstore’ warehouses. Its smart vacuum system concentrates suction only on unmachined areas, enhancing efficiency.

Finishing upgrades

In addition, SCM is introducing new finishing upgrades for the Accord 500 and Accord 600 ranges, designed for doors, windows, staircases and solid-wood elements.

These upgrades maintain the strong points of the existing range, including a dual motorised gantry structure, a high-performance 5-axes operator unit, innovative suction systems, and high-capacity tool magazines with Maestro Power TMS.

Notable new features include the ‘Optizone’ system, revolutionizing CNC bar machining by allowing the definition of work area sizes during programming. The new SVP (single vacuum pods) function enables independent securing of pieces on each semi-table, optimising scrap management.

Enhanced configurability and new tool magazine options improve the efficiency of the machining process, ensuring SCM remains at the forefront of surface innovation and design.
