Marquee event keeps its promises

The recently concluded edition of IndiaWood 2024, which took place from 22nd to 26th February in Bengaluru, succeeded in showcasing ground-breaking technologies and new materials, poised to redefine the future of woodworking.

From high-performance adhesives and coatings to sustainable timber harvesting practices and eco-friendly finishes, IndiaWood demonstrated the industry’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Visitors were able to explore the latest advancements in engineered wood products, such as cross-laminated timber (CLT), laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and glue-laminated timber (glulam).

Concurrent events included India MattressTech+ Upholstery Supplies Expo (IME), ‘Wood+ in Architecture and Design (WAD)’, and the newest launch, Surface in Motion’, a day-long conference on decorative surfaces for wood-based materials.

Featuring products and services from 950 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, the event attracted 75,000 woodworking and furniture manufacturing industry professionals from India and abroad.

As IndiaWood approaches its 25th anniversary in 2025, the event has emerged as the cornerstone of the industry, driving development, sustainability, and growth.

It has played a pivotal role in shaping the economic landscape of the woodworking and furniture manufacturing sector and has contributed to job creation, skill development and the promotion of exports.

From 2025 IndiaWood will alternate locations between Delhi and Bengaluru each year, ensuring a meticulously curated, focused and internationally recognised platform to champion the industry’s growth and global aspirations.

The Delhi edition will take place from 6th to 9th March at the India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML) in Greater Noida, Delhi National Capital Region.

The India furniture market size is estimated at US$ 17.56 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach US$ 29.86 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 11.20% during the forecast period.

The furniture industry is on an upward trajectory with a rise in demand for modern, modular furniture, growth in the residential real estate sector, as well as tourism, the hospitality industry and the corporate sector.

The online furniture market in India is expected to experience rapid progress, driven by a surge in furniture companies establishing their online presence and selling products through popular e-commerce platforms.
