SCM’s Gabbiani CT cell goes robotic

SCM’s latest innovation in beam saw technology is the Gabbiani GT cell with robot. This cutting-edge solution features a Gabbiani GT2 single-blade panel saw paired with an articulated robot positioned at the front left of the machine.

Designed to handle both single-piece and large-batch productions with remarkable flexibility, this cell is a unique offering in the market. It seamlessly transitions between automatic and manual processing modes within seconds.

When in automatic mode, the robot manages the handling of additional modules and optimizes operations, freeing the operator from routine tasks and enabling the processing of small, finished pieces with ease.

Conversely, the manual mode enhances productivity by enabling pack cutting. Equipped with a comprehensive range of options, including automatic labelling, a rotary table for pre-cuts, automatic ejection, and trim management, the Gabbiani GT cell ensures a thorough and efficient process.

It also features an automatic blade-scorer alignment system and an articulated robot for handling and palletizing finished panels and offcuts. The cell can be fully integrated with horizontal storage systems.

Optiwise software

SCM has also introduced its Maestro Optiwise, the latest cutting optimization software designed to enhance the efficiency of the Gabbiani panel saws. It optimizes the positioning and orientation of panel parts to minimize material waste, aiming for cutting excellence across both large and small production batches.

The software boasts high calculation performance, leveraging powerful algorithms capable of operating on multi-core systems to determine the most cost-effective and time-efficient solutions. It integrates seamlessly with ERP systems by importing material storage and cutting lists.

Furthermore, Maestro Optiwise supports dual direction Office/Factory 4.0 integration, enabling instant program transfers and precise machining parameter readings for accurate planning.
