High-temperature kilns, low energy impact

BigOnDry Srl is an Italian company specialising in the design and construction of timber drying and heat treatment plants. It employs increasingly innovative solutions with special tailor-made features to guarantee end users the best performance while respecting available resources, with high energy saving solutions.

BigOnDry is an important reference in the field of drying and treatment of wood for the construction of plants applicable in different areas, from the construction of highly technological systems for drying the most valuable broad leaves, to special turnkey plants, complete with all the part relating to biomass heat generation, vaporizers, and combined vaporization and drying plants.

Apart from conventional timber drying kilns, it manufacturers mini-dryers (3-14 m3), steaming chambers and high-temperature (up to 230°C) kilns for thermally modified wood.

It uses compact systems with reduced investment, using direct heating systems without necessarily having to install boilers and heat management systems that are too complex. Its high-efficiency exchange circuits (over 99%) use conventional fuels (gas and diesel) or combining hybrid systems using renewable energy.

The software for the BigOnDry control of the heat treatment phase is compliant with ISPM Directive 15, allowing its customers to store process data and create a report in full compliance with specific European regulations.

BigOnDry electronic systems guarantee advanced, easy-to-use and very reliable control, with extremely precise probes and measuring systems that allow high quality and fully automatic processes.

Important energy management functions have been implemented in the Venus-2500 controllers, recording and storing the consumption parameters detected during the performance of the drying and heat treatment cycles, quantifying them both in terms of energy (kWh) and in terms of cost by introducing the value of unit energy costs (€/kWh).

The function allows users to create a historical archives by comparing different types of cycles and giving an immediate image of the real consumption as the essences vary, the different thicknesses and in different external conditions.
