Egger counts on Hymmen tech for worktops

Worktops coming out of the TFL press.

Worktops are an integral part of Egger’s large product range. To optimise the production of sustainable and high-quality worktops economically, Egger put a new production line into operation at its Biskupiec site in Poland in 2020.

Egger’s long-standing partner, Hymmen GmbH, provided the plant technology for this project. The centerpiece of the whole line is the proven double belt press from the TFL series. The line has now been operating successfully for 4 years, and Egger is happy to report on its experiences.

Worktops from Egger form the basis for distinctive and trendy kitchen designs. The new and extended decor selection of stone, concrete, metal, ceramic and wood imitations – as well as other worktop models – opens a wide scope of design options. These can be completed with decor-matching niche rear walls, niche rear wall panels and side panels.

The post-forming worktop produced with Hymmen technology is the established and classic solution for worktops, convincing with its seamless laminate coating, from the surface and around the edges to the back of the board.

A thin chipboard support edge on the front longitudinal edge ensures high impact resistance and a smooth surface.

These worktops offer many advantages: they are abrasion-impact- and scratch resistant, hygienic and food-safe, stain-resistant, heat-resistant, available with matching niche rear walls and perfectly coordinated wall finishing strips. They also have anti-bacterial surface properties in accordance with ISO 22196.

Of course, the same system is also used to coat worktops with laminate, which are then given a durable thermos-plastic edge.

Biskupiec manufactures worktops for kitchens, bathroom, office and living room furniture, store fitting and store interiors, hobby and cellar rooms with a variety of attractive decors.

“In the Egger Group, we can look back on many years of successful cooperation with our technology partner, Hymmen. We greatly appreciate the process expertise of Hymmen’s experienced engineers. This ensured that we were able to realize a plant in Biskupiec that not only meets the desired quality requirements, but also works extremely reliably and economically,” says Ovidiu Olari, Plant Manager (Technology and Production) at Egger Biskupiec.
