KolkataWood opens 12-14 September

KolkataWood 2025, the first major exhibition in Eastern India dedicated to woodworking, furniture and mattress manufacturing, opens at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan from 12-14 September 2025.

Organised by NuernbergMesse India, it marks the newest chapter in the IndiaWood series, which has long connected India’s furniture manufacturing sectors with global innovations through its editions in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

The debut of KolkataWood comes at a time when Eastern India’s economy is gaining momentum. Infrastructure upgrades, along with rising incomes and booming real estate, are reshaping demand for high-quality furniture, kitchens, workspaces and sleep solutions.

“Eastern India is no longer a peripheral market – it’s an emerging industrial hub with the potential to compete nationally,” says Sonia Prashar, Managing Director and Chairperson of the Board, NuernbergMesse India. “KolkataWood is about giving the region a dedicated platform to accelerate that transition.”

Against this backdrop, KolkataWood will bring together furniture manufacturers, saw millers, architects, designers and suppliers to explore the latest machinery, materials, fittings and tools. Live demonstrations, curated B2B matchmaking, and knowledge sessions will make it a highly interactive, business-driven platform.

The event is expected to draw significant participation from across India, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, sourcing and partnerships. By bridging traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology, the expo aims to showcase how Eastern India can align with the country’s broader manufacturing growth story.
