The requirements of the furniture and interior work industry have risen dramatically and therefore the adhesive requirements have also changed considerably. Fast application, difficult profiles, temperature and moisture resistance are factors which must be taken into consideration where Kleiberit adhesives fulfill the requirements.

• Kleiberit hot-melt adhesive systems for edge banding have a medium or high viscosity, filling the gaps in the middle layer of the chipboard and achieving good strength across the whole width of the board. Quick crystallisation in the press is necessary to avoid smearing during flush milling. Edge banding adhesives are free flowing. Therefore, they do not cause blocking in the granulate pre-melter.
• Kleiberit adhesives for 3D form press technology are low viscous, easy to spray dispersions based on polyurethane (PUR). They feature high temperature resistance, high water and steam resistance, good adhesion to PVC, PP, PET and ABS foils, and very high green strength. Dispersions on PVAC basis are used in 3D laminating of veneer for products such as door panels.
• Kleiberit adhesives for wood-to-wood are employed in the production of windows and doors made from solid wood. These adhesives have gained more importance when using European as well as Asian timber. They have water resistance (D3 or D4) and high temperature resistance (DIN/ EN 14257) with a recommended minimum value of 7N/mm2.
• Kleiberit hot-melt adhesives for profile wrapping can, depending to the type of hot-melt, have a low or medium viscosity. Their advantages are good pre-melting properties, good dosing, as well as long open time, but good green strength.

• Kleiberit adhesives for flat lamination are used in particle boards or MDF, in furniture and kitchen fronts, furniture side and back panels and shelves. Whether real wood veneers or plastic films (ABS, PMMA or PET) the variety of decors is vast, offering furniture designers almost unlimited possibilities.
