IME enters its 10th edition

As India’s mattress and upholstery manufacturing sector accelerates its shift toward automation, premiumisation and global competitiveness, the India MattressTech & Upholstery Supplies Expo (IME) 2026 is scheduled to take place from 26th February to 1st March at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).

Organised by NürnbergMesse-India, the exhibition has evolved into a focused business platform for India’s comfort manufacturing ecosystem. This year’s edition is expected to welcome 8,000 business visitors, showcase more than 120 leading brands, and host participation from eight countries.

It brings together machinery manufacturers, raw material suppliers, component specialists and production decision-makers under one roof.

Currently valued at an estimated US$2.5 billion, India’s mattress market is projected to grow at 7-9% CAGR over the next 5 years. The organised and premium segments are expanding at an even faster pace, driven by urbanisation, real estate development, hospitality growth and rising awareness around sleep health.

Consumer demand is steadily shifting from cotton and coir products to foam, memory foam and hybrid systems. Replacement cycles are gradually shortening, and manufacturers are investing in automation, advanced materials, and scalable production systems to remain competitive.

Over 10 editions, IME has mirrored the transformation of India’s comfort manufacturing landscape from largely semi-mechanised operations to increasingly technology-driven plants. The 2026 edition will showcase the complete value chain, including:

  • Mattress production machinery
  • Quilting and finishing systems
  • Foam, fabrics and raw materials
  • Adhesives and components
  • Upholstery production technology
  • Packaging and automation solutions

With growing export interest from South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, manufacturers are focused on efficiency, consistency and international compliance.

IME provides a strategic environment for production heads, plant owners and procurement teams to benchmark technologies, evaluate suppliers and plan future investments.

Held concurrently with IndiaWood 2026, the exhibition enables cross-sector engagement between mattress, upholstery, woodworking and furniture manufacturing communities, creating broader sourcing and collaboration opportunities. For more information,  visit: http://www.indiamattresstechexpo.com.
