Winners at India Skills 2018 will earn tickets to Russia

Selection of candidates for the India Skills 2018 national selections is now underway. Carpenters who win at the nationals will get to participate in the international level at the World Skills 2019 competition, which will take place in Kazan, Russia.

From the India Skills competition three candidates from the carpentry trade and another three candidates from cabinet making will be selected to represent India at Kazan.

The district- and state-level competitions were held in Bihar, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab and Rajasthan.

They were organised by the Furniture and Fittings Council of India (FFSC), in partnership with Bharatiya Skill Development University (Jaipur), Bosch India Foundation (Bengaluru), Caple Industrial Solutions (Mumbai), Hettich-India, I-Evo (Udaipur) and the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad).

A training boot camp was organised for candidates who were selected from the participating states at the HettichPoddar Wood Working Institute (HPWWI) in Faridabad recently.

 

West Zone

Carpentry:Vikash Kumar Naga (Rajasthan); runner-up Amar (Haryana).

Cabinet making: Rajesh Solanki (Gujarat);

1st runner-up Santosh Ojha (Odisha);

2nd runner-up Amar Prem Kale Maharashtra).

North Zone

Carpentry: Sukhvir Singh (Punjab); runner-up Bharat (Chandigarh).

South Zone:

Carpentry:Sushith (Kerala); Rajeesh MK (Kerala)

Cabinet making:Avinash C (Karnataka); MohitKalal (Rajasthan); Keshar Singh Rajput (Rajasthan).
