SCM set to expand footprint in India

Italian woodworking technology provider, SCM Group, is building up its presence in India with dedicated warehouses, showrooms, experts and local technical and sales staff. The aim is to provide direct, widespread sales and after-sales service assistance at each stage of customer relations, from pre- to after-sales.

“The woodworking industry in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan continues to grow,” says Mr Giovanni Masino, SCM Regional Manager for West Asia and the Indian Sub-continent. “SCM offers a wide choice of technological solutions: from the artisan to industry, from panel to solid wood machining, from furniture to windows and doors.”

According to Mr Balkar Singh, Area Manager for India, SCM has implemented a strategic investment in the Indian market that will continue through 2021 to provide local woodworking businesses with even more extensive, all-round assistance. It will include classic machines for woodworking to the automatic entry-level solutions: panel sizing machines, edge banders, machining centres, sanding machines and technologies for surface treatment.

“The Indian market also registers a growing focus on digitalisation and IoT, requisites that SCM meets with its vast range of digital software and services to allow wood operators to achieve a tangible optimisation of assistance and maintenance activities, even remotely,” Masino added.
